The EDEX interface is the fastest and most cost-effective system available. No software is required, just your internet connection. EDEX provides you with electronic access to California workers compensation case information. EDEX allows access to all public record court records from the Workers Compensation Appeals Board from 1989 to present.
Authorized users can search for records by SSN or WCAB case number and can also file liens and track case status electronically if so desired.
Liens
The application instantly enters your lien into the DWC computer system. Once accepted, you will be provided with complete lien filing notices detailing all of the information about the case, including case status, location, dates and types of injury, the complete address record and more. In addition, complete lien filing packets can be printed in Adobe Acrobat format with just a click of your mouse. Simply sign the lien and proof-of-service forms, attach your itemized statement and mail!
Once your lien has been electronically filed the status of the case is continuously monitored. If a hearing, trial, conference or other activity is scheduled on the case you receive notification in your Inbox to keep you up to date as every change occurs. You will never miss another trial or hearing simply because you were never notified.
The automatic calendar system also tracks your appearances for you. The calendar shows you all future (and past) hearings as well as case information and your own notes!
Case Searching
EDEX provides two types of electronic searches, Social Security and Case Number.
Social Security searches locate and provide information on all of the workers' compensation appeals board cases for an injured worker. The search will return results for both open and closed cases.
Case number searches reveal the same results but limit the information you receive to one specific workers' compensation case regardless of whether the injured worker has other current or previous cases.
Both types of inquiries will provide the case number and status of each case, the dates and types of injury, all of the injured worker information, a complete address record, and the five most recent events that have occurred.
